One reason I wrote this book is that I was impressed with how my brother stayed so lively after losing his sight. He still laughed, loved, and enjoyed adventures.

Part of that was helping in a downhill ski race where the racers were blind or blindfolded. Like all parts of this book, that’s based on real people. If you want to see for yourself, this site now has videos showing blind ski racers. It may sound crazy, but to them, it’s just another way to keep some excitement in life, which we all need.
